Gracie Jiu Jitsu Eugene is an “Elite” Certified Training Center under Gracie University, offering a structured curriculum rooted in the self-defense philosophy developed by Grandmaster Hélio Gracie and carried forward by Rorion, Ryron, and Rener Gracie. The academy’s programs are built around the Gracie Combatives, Gracie Bullyproof, and Women Empowered curriculums, ensuring that adults, children, and women have access to age-appropriate and skill-specific training. Every student receives live instruction paired with unlimited access to Gracie University’s online video archive, allowing for continuous learning and review outside of class. The school is led by Adam Roberts, the first Certified Gracie Instructor in the Pacific Northwest and a veteran coach with over 35 years in athletics and youth programs. Adam’s martial arts journey began in the early 1990s and has included training under Wellington “Megaton” Dias, as well as direct certification under Rener and Ryron Gracie. He is also a certified instructor in Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts under Guro Dan Inosanto and Paul Vunak, and teaches at the University of Oregon. Coach Shannon, a longtime instructor at the academy, supports the adult and youth programs and is certified in Gracie Combatives and Women Empowered. Classes at Gracie Jiu Jitsu Eugene include fundamentals for adults, advanced Master Cycle, kids’ Bullyproof, women’s self-defense, and unique offerings like homeschool and parent-child classes. The academy is also Lane County’s only certified Jeet Kune Do and Kali school, expanding its reach beyond BJJ to include striking and weapon-based arts. The facility welcomes families, encourages parental involvement, and maintains wheelchair accessibility.
