Gracie Barra Central Coast

Gracie Barra Central Coast has been a fixture in Erina since 2011, bringing the structured Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu system to the Central Coast under the leadership of Professor Danillo Coltro, a fourth-degree black belt with more than 25 years of experience. Professor Coltro, originally from Brazil and now settled in Australia, leads a team of certified instructors who are committed to technical excellence, safety, and the core values of brotherhood, integrity and personal development. The school has made a mark locally by supporting the training journeys of over 1,500 families and contributing to projects like The BJJ Performance Study with Newcastle University and the AIS. The academy’s program covers the full spectrum of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Structured classes run six days a week, with early morning, daytime and evening options to suit different schedules. Adults can progress from fundamentals in the gi through to advanced and competition-level training, including No-Gi sparring sessions. There is a strong focus on progression, with the GB2 and GB3 programs challenging experienced students and blue belts and above. Women’s classes are a regular part of the timetable, providing a supportive introduction and a pathway to the broader curriculum. Children and teens are well catered for, with dedicated gi fundamentals and sparring classes for kids, and No-Gi drilling and sparring for teens. Families often train together, and the school’s emphasis on personal growth and wellbeing is reflected in its approach to junior classes. Open mat sessions allow for extra practice and skill development. Visitors and drop-ins are welcome, and the facility includes multiple mats, changing rooms, a pro shop, and a waiting area for parents. Gracie Barra Central Coast is firmly rooted in the local community, blending international standards with a practical, family-oriented approach to BJJ.
