1808 S Chestatee #106, Dahlonega, GA
Dahlonega BJJ - Diego Saraiva BJJ is led by Professor Diego Saraiva, a Brazilian black belt from Fortaleza with deep roots in both competition and coaching. Diego began training as a kid in Brazil, earned his black belt under Guilherme Santos in 2002, and has represented Nova União for over 20 years. He’s a decorated IBJJF medalist, a World Championship silver medalist, and an eight-time Pan American Championship medalist. Alongside his wife, Fernanda Saraiva—a black belt and active competitor—the academy draws on a family tradition of jiu jitsu and a genuine love for the sport. Classes at Dahlonega BJJ cover both gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for adults, as well as a dedicated kids’ martial arts program. Students regularly work wrestling and judo into their training, reflecting Diego’s background in MMA and the Nova União tradition of blending grappling and striking. The school’s schedule also includes open mat sessions, giving students extra time for live sparring, rounds, and technique work outside of formal classes. Beginners and experienced grapplers alike will find a mix of technical instruction and practical training, with plenty of time to develop at their own pace. The gym welcomes drop-in visitors and travelers, and it’s wheelchair accessible. Located off South Chestatee Street, it draws students from Dahlonega, Dawsonville, Gainesville, and the surrounding area. Whether training for self-defense, competition, or the simple joy of learning, students at Dahlonega BJJ benefit from a team led by instructors who live and breathe the art, and who bring decades of experience to every class.
