Since opening four years ago, the school has expanded significantly, relocating to a larger facility on N 5th St to accommodate growing enrollment and a wider range of programs. Classes at Copa Jiu Jitsu focus on structured progression through fundamentals to more advanced techniques, offering both gi and no-gi training for adults. The schedule includes dedicated fundamentals classes, open mats for members, and specialized sessions such as adult competition training. The academy also integrates striking with a kickboxing and Muay Thai class on Fridays, supporting a broader martial arts experience. For younger students, the kids’ program serves ages 6 to 13 with separate gi and no-gi classes twice weekly, reinforcing discipline and skill development in a consistent format. Beyond regular classes, Copa hosts seminars with high-profile instructors, including Robert Drysdale and Carlson Gracie Jr., connecting students directly to influential figures in the sport. The academy’s location is wheelchair accessible, and it maintains a family-friendly membership structure, encouraging training across generations. This approach reflects a commitment to preserving the Carlson Gracie tradition while fostering technical growth through disciplined instruction and community events.
