7703 N El Capitan Way #120, Las Vegas, NV
Cephas Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy in Las Vegas has a family martial-arts lineage that reaches beyond Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Sensei Jerell Cephas is the grandson of Professor Willard Cephas Sr. and nephew of Soke Will Cephas II and Kaiso Shawn Cephas. He earned his black belt in the family’s Cephas Karate-Jiu Jitsu system in 2012 and now teaches as a third-degree black belt in that art. The current academy program includes gi and no-gi jiu jitsu, kids training, wrestling, judo, MMA, boxing and open mat. That breadth reflects the Cephas family’s wider martial-arts tradition rather than a school built exclusively around modern sport BJJ. For students in Las Vegas who want jiu jitsu inside a broader traditional martial-arts framework, Cephas offers something genuinely different. The school’s identity is tied to a multigenerational family system, making it a stronger fit for people interested in cross-disciplinary martial arts than for someone looking only for a competition-focused no-gi room.
