9th Isle Bjj

9th Isle Bjj is led by Gaspar “JunBug” Agabin, a purple belt under Robert Drysdale with a competitive background that includes multiple IBJJF and NAGA medals. Originally from Maui, Hawaii, Agabin began training no-gi jiu-jitsu in 2000 and has since developed a teaching career spanning kids and adults in BJJ, MMA, and striking. The academy operates as an affiliate of Walter “Cascao” Vital, a Pan American champion with a long history of competition and instruction, connecting 9th Isle to a lineage rooted in both sport and self-defense. Students at 9th Isle train in gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu alongside striking arts like boxing and kickboxing. The curriculum emphasizes building a solid foundation in jiu-jitsu while integrating stand-up and ground grappling techniques for a balanced approach to mixed martial arts. Classes include beginner striking fundamentals, anti-bullying self-defense, and advanced martial arts training. The school offers programs for kids, women, and adults, reflecting a range of age groups and skill levels within a schedule that runs Monday through Saturday.
