Ceconi BJJ in Magnolia, TX was founded by Alexandro Ceconi, a Brazilian black belt with deep roots in the art. Alexandro’s journey began in Santa Catarina, Brazil, where he balanced a day job as a car salesman with training under Rilion Gracie, the youngest son of Carlos Gracie. After years of dedication—including a stint as a professional MMA fighter—Alexandro established his own academy to share the practical, self-defense-focused lineage of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. The academy emphasizes the original Gracie system, with a strong focus on self-defense and the fundamentals of control and technique over strength or athleticism. Students are encouraged to build a solid foundation in gi Jiu-Jitsu before exploring no-gi or advanced concepts, reflecting Alexandro’s belief that the gi teaches effective control at a manageable pace. The schedule includes early morning classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as evening sessions Monday through Thursday and Saturday mornings, making it accessible for a range of lifestyles. Ceconi BJJ offers programs for adults and children, including Kids Jiu-Jitsu, women’s classes, and dedicated self-defense instruction. All classes are taught in the gi, and drop-ins are permitted.
