2001 W Trenton Rd Suite 104-105, Edinburg, TX
Koulikov Grappling Academy in Edinburg is built around founder Vlad Koulikov, a world-level sambo competitor who represented Team USA in Combat Sambo and placed three times at the USA Open. That background immediately separates the academy from a conventional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school: sambo and judo-style grappling are part of the technical identity rather than occasional cross-training. The current program includes Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, kids training, judo and boxing-related work. Koulikov’s competition history gives students direct access to someone who has tested takedowns and submission grappling under international sambo rules, providing a different perspective on stand-up entries and leg attacks than a purely BJJ-developed coach. For grapplers around Edinburg, McAllen and Pharr, KGA is especially compelling if they want a broader grappling education. The academy’s founder has a genuine world-level sambo résumé, making this one of the more distinctive jiu jitsu options in the Rio Grande Valley.
