BC Kickboxing & BJJ Waxhaw & Indian Trail NC has been part of the Waxhaw martial arts scene for over 12 years, led by Professor Ben Corpuz. Professor Ben is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Master Roberto Traven and holds instructor ranks in Muay Thai, Taekwondo, and Shotokan Karate. His experience spans decades as a competitor, coach, and fitness professional, with titles that include IBJJF Pan American No-Gi Champion and Grapplers Quest World Champion. The academy reflects his belief that martial arts are about building confidence, discipline, and lifelong healthy habits—not just collecting medals. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at BC Kickboxing & BJJ is taught in both gi and no-gi formats, with all-levels classes and open mats available throughout the week. Professor Ben is joined by Coach Christian O’Brien, a brown belt and active competitor who leads the no-gi submission grappling program, and Coach Emmanuel Robles, who oversees the Muay Thai and children’s martial arts programs. The team brings practical, competition-tested instruction to every class, emphasizing technique, respect, and steady improvement for beginners and advanced students alike. The academy offers programs for kids as young as three, with Ninja & Samurai classes for ages 3–9 and Junior BJJ and kickboxing for ages 10–13. Adults can train in BJJ, Muay Thai, fitness kickboxing, and striking, with additional options for strength and conditioning and private lessons. BC Kickboxing & BJJ welcomes drop-ins and has wheelchair-accessible facilities. The instructors’ commitment to personal growth and real-world skill development is at the heart of the school’s approach, making it a steady presence in the Waxhaw martial arts community.
