Claim this gymBarrie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is led day-to-day by Shaun Carrique, a 2nd-degree black belt who structures classes around measurable skill progressions. His experience with Zenith Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu within Robert Drysdale’s network informs the curriculum: classes move from fundamentals to positional sparring with clear weekly focus blocks so students know what to drill and why. Shaun is also listed among the coaching roster alongside brown, purple and blue belt instructors who run specific sessions and assist with technique breakdowns. The academy programmes include Adult Gi, Adult No-Gi and Youth BJJ with stated emphasis on fundamentals, takedown entries, clinch safety, guard retention and pressure passing. Practical on-ramps for beginners are built into class flow—partner matching, safety cues and simple homework repetitions are regular features—and the site notes a free trial class for newcomers. Small class sizes are mentioned as part of how instruction stays hands-on. Barrie BJJ operates from 571 Bayfield St N, Entrance 2, 2nd Floor in Barrie, Ontario, and posts contact details for phone (705-716-4077) and email (bjj@705bjj.com) as ways to reach the school. The academy identifies as a Zenith affiliate and maintains active social channels (Facebook: barriebjj, Instagram: barrie_bjj) and a website for the full schedule and directions.
