Alliance BJJ SF Bay structures its Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu curriculum with clear progression and attention to both technical development and practical training. Classes are divided into fundamentals, intermediate, and advanced levels, with dedicated time for sparring and situational drilling. The academy offers both gi and no-gi instruction, integrating traditional techniques with the fast-paced dynamics of modern grappling. Adults can train at midday, evening, and early morning sessions, and drop-ins are welcome for both locals and visitors. The academy is led by Lucio Muramatsu, a 4th degree black belt under Adriano Pires and Fabio Gurgel, with deep roots in the Alliance lineage from São Paulo, Brazil. Lucio brings over 25 years of experience, a background in kinesiology and biochemistry, and a competition record spanning more than 100 tournaments worldwide. He is joined by Nayo Mouton-Fuentes, a San Francisco native and black belt with cross-training in judo, Japanese jiu-jitsu, and Muay Thai, and Joseph Gonzales, a purple belt with regular competition success and a technical coaching style. For young students, Alliance BJJ SF Bay runs a robust kids’ program with age-specific classes for children ages 3–15, focusing on discipline, confidence, and coordination through engaging instruction. Private lessons are available for more personalized guidance, and the facility is wheelchair accessible.
