410 Academy of Martial Arts in Salisbury, Maryland was founded to bring together high-quality instruction and an atmosphere where anyone—from hobbyists to serious competitors—can feel at home on the mats. The coaching team, including Sean Ashley, Jack Shellenberger, Dave Leon, Brittany Edwards, Scott Alder, Joey Calabrese, and Taehyun Nam, is committed to making Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu accessible and challenging for all levels. Their teaching philosophy centers on pairing technical excellence with genuine support, so students can pursue personal growth at their own pace. Classes at 410 Academy cover the full spectrum of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, blending traditional gi fundamentals with a robust no-gi program. Adult students can train in structured fundamentals classes, competition-focused no-gi sessions, and open mat times throughout the week. The academy also offers striking and judo, giving students the option to round out their grappling with stand-up skills. Women’s only BJJ classes are available in both gi and no-gi formats, providing space for female athletes to learn and train together. For younger students, 410 Academy runs a Tiny Tots program for ages 4–7, as well as separate youth gi and no-gi classes designed to build confidence, discipline, and coordination in a fun environment.
