Wolves Den Jiu Jitsu Highland is led by Suyan Queiroz and Matheus Queiroz, two black belts whose roots run deep in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s competitive and traditional heritage. Suyan began his journey in Teresópolis, Brazil, under Marcelo Alonso and the legendary Carlson Gracie, earning his black belt after capturing a world title in 1998. Matheus, a black belt under Carlson Gracie Jr., grew up immersed in the art from age five and has collected multiple IBJJF championships, with experience at the highest levels of the sport. Both founders remain active on the mats, along with a hand-picked coaching staff trained in their curriculum, ensuring every class delivers the same technical standard and philosophy. The academy’s teaching method rests on three pillars: martial arts philosophy, technical mastery, and real-world application through competition. Classes for adults run six days a week and are structured for all experience levels, from fundamentals in the gi to advanced sessions and dynamic no-gi training. The schedule includes both gi and no-gi options for adults, with open mats for continued practice. Competition training is a central part of the Wolves Den approach—there are invitation-only sessions for young competitors and a consistent push to refine skills for real-world and tournament settings. Younger students are grouped by age, with “Little Wolves” for ages 5–7 and “Junior Wolves” for 8–13, both available in gi, and no-gi classes for juniors as well. The kids’ program is designed not just as an introduction to BJJ, but as a way to build confidence, discipline, and respect—values that carry off the mats. The Highland location is wheelchair accessible and open to visitors for most classes, with a curriculum and coaching team shaped by world-class experience and a clear vision for student growth.
