Virtue Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Belton, Texas is led by owner and head instructor Justin Renick, a first degree black belt under Professor Rodrigo Cabral. Born and raised in nearby Temple, Professor Renick began training at age 14 and credits Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with changing his life after early struggles with bullying. Over the years, he has competed at the highest levels, including EBI Combat Jiu Jitsu Worlds, Fight2Win Pro, and Third Coast Grappling, and has earned titles such as Sub FC / Submission Hunter Pro Black Belt Champion. Alongside a dedicated team of black belts and experienced coaches—including Professor Jeff Anderson and Professor Jonattan Almedina—Virtue BJJ is built on the idea that the academy is a family, supporting growth both on and off the mats. Training at Virtue covers the full progression from early childhood to seasoned competitor. The Little Ninjas program introduces children ages 3 and up to BJJ through games and structured drills, while All Levels Kids classes (ages 6+) focus on fundamentals and building confidence. Teens and adults can join gi and no-gi classes throughout the week, with both early morning and noon options available. The academy also offers a free ladies-only class, a dedicated wrestling club led by an experienced collegiate wrestler, and a judo program that emphasizes takedowns and grip fighting. Open mats are held regularly and are open to visitors from other schools. Virtue BJJ’s facility features a large main mat space with a subfloor for joint safety, a second mat area with a built-in climbing wall, and amenities such as a clean shower/changing room and a self-serve snack bar. The academy is partnered with the We Defy Foundation and is committed to providing training opportunities for disabled veterans. With classes six days a week and instructors who share their own family journeys on the mats, Virtue is a place where students of all backgrounds can find both challenge and support.
