Claim this gymUSTA Martial Arts-Marysville operates as part of a regional network of schools dedicated to martial arts training across several Puget Sound communities. While the Marysville location shares the broader USTA curriculum and values, its programs are tailored to serve local students interested in striking, grappling, and submission arts. The system emphasizes a structured progression that includes youth classes like Little Tiger and Children’s programs, leading into family and adult/teen classes designed to develop both technical skill and personal leadership. The academy runs an advanced Elite Class focusing on full sparring with all required protective gear, held twice weekly at the Smokey Point location, which supports the Marysville student base. This class integrates striking and grappling techniques for experienced practitioners seeking to deepen their practical application under realistic conditions. Alongside this, the school offers an open mat for adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners, allowing for additional drilling and live training outside of formal lessons. USTA’s instructional philosophy extends beyond physical techniques through its Instructor Program, which prepares black belts aged fifteen and up to take on teaching and leadership roles. This program includes advanced curriculum on human education methodology and leadership skills, aiming to cultivate instructors who can manage classes and potentially operate their own USTA schools. For younger students, the Leadership Class targets those eleven and older, focusing on personal development and self-discipline as foundations for becoming effective leaders both on and off the mats.
