1002 N Parsons Ave Unit B, Brandon, FL
Torres Top Team BJJ is led by Professor Tony Torres, a Brandon native who began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2004 at the age of twelve. After years of training and competition experience under the guidance of Professors Joey Best and Johnny Weisser at Ybor City Jiu-Jitsu Club, Torres was promoted to black belt in 2024, becoming the seventh black belt under Professor Best. His background includes extensive competition in both gi and no-gi formats at every belt level, along with experience as a tournament referee for organizations such as Grappling Industries and COPA. At T3 BJJ, instruction is rooted in technique, family, and perseverance. The academy offers a structured progression for adults and kids, with classes in both gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The schedule includes fundamentals, competition-focused sessions by invitation, and wrestling and striking classes for a broader grappling and self-defense base. Special programs include women’s classes and open mat sessions, reflecting a commitment to making BJJ accessible across age groups and backgrounds. There is also a Master’s class for students 30 and older, and both gi and no-gi classes for kids. Torres Top Team welcomes visitors for drop-in training and is located minutes from Brandon High School, with a wheelchair-accessible facility. The academy’s foundation is built on helping students grow on and off the mats, guided by Professor Torres’s personal experience and the values he developed throughout his years in the Florida BJJ scene.
