The Pawn Shop Jiu Jitsu in Rantoul, Illinois, is led by Wilson Hensleigh, a black belt who began training in 2016 and started teaching in 2021. Hensleigh developed his skills primarily under Nathan Zigler and other instructors at Gracie Arizona in Phoenix, before continuing his training with James Martin and the Lycan's Den MMA & Jiu Jitsu team in nearby Urbana. With roots in the local area, Hensleigh opened this gym to provide a place for martial arts practice with a focus on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as both sport and self-defense. Classes at The Pawn Shop Jiu Jitsu cover gi and no-gi training for adults and kids aged 10 and older. The schedule includes adult gi and no-gi classes, kids’ gi classes, fundamental self-defense sessions, and no-gi workshops.
