The Forge Zero Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in York Springs centers its instruction around traditional gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for adults, held Monday through Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Students train in a focused environment led by Christian Hoffman, a black belt under Daniel Beleza and Michael Oberdick with over 11 years of experience and multiple IBJJF competition medals. His background brings a blend of technical knowledge and competitive insight to the mat. Christian’s teaching philosophy emphasizes more than just technique; it’s about building resilience through self-defense and fostering personal growth. Joining him is Rebecca Dietz, a purple belt under Michael Oberdick who leads the kids’ program. With seven years of training and competition experience herself, including an IBJJF Detroit Open gold medal, Rebecca focuses on empowering women and children through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, integrating fitness and self-defense into her instruction. The Forge maintains a consistent schedule with gi classes that welcome drop-ins, allowing practitioners to engage with the art at their own pace. The academy’s approach is straightforward and intentional, offering a path for students interested in developing practical skills and mental toughness under experienced guidance in the York Springs area.
