The Fight System in Philomath, Oregon, is led by founder and head instructor Justin Zabroski, who brings over 25 years of experience across Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and MMA. The gym’s curriculum reflects his deep roots in grappling arts, blending traditional disciplines like Judo and Sambo with wrestling and submission wrestling to create a hybrid grappling system. This approach draws on historical martial arts lineages while adapting to the demands of modern mixed martial arts competition and training longevity. Training at The Fight System follows a structured progression through multiple levels, emphasizing fundamentals and safe skill development, especially in areas often prone to injury such as throws and clinch work. Alongside their signature hybrid Jiu-Jitsu program, the gym offers dedicated classes in Muay Thai, boxing, and MMA clinch and wall work, each designed to integrate seamlessly with the overall curriculum. Women’s and youth classes are part of the regular schedule, with specialized instruction focusing on confidence, movement, and practical technique for younger practitioners.
