Claim this gymTeam Randori Martial Arts in Annapolis is known for its black-belt-led Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs and a competition culture with proven results. The academy was founded by Alfred Hogan, a second-degree black belt with an international résumé that includes two IBJJF Masters World titles, an IBJJF Pan American title, and three IBJJF New York Open championships. The senior team features third-degree black belts Carlos Lima and Guilherme Neves—both with Brazilian competition backgrounds and Fight to Win victories—who bring deep experience to daily instruction. Classes at Team Randori are structured for a wide range of students, with separate tracks for beginners, adults, competitive athletes, and kids. The academy’s youth program fields a competition team that participates in local, national, and international events, including IBJJF and ADCC tournaments. Adults interested in testing themselves can join focused competition practices built around drilling and tournament scenarios, while those seeking fundamentals or a technical foundation have dedicated beginner classes. There are also regular no-gi sessions and a women’s-only BJJ program. Membership at Team Randori is capped at 200 students, and all new members complete a trial program before joining. This approach keeps classes personal and instruction tailored, rather than crowded. The academy welcomes visitors for open mat, and emphasizes a structured, family-friendly environment led by IBJJF-registered black belts.
