Team Moreira Jiu Jitsu Biddeford, Adult & Kid classes is run by Brooks Doran, who has been dedicated to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 1998. Brooks began his journey under Kevin Cincotta in Biddeford, Maine, and after more than a decade of training, he completed the instructor’s course with the renowned Master Joe Moreira. In 2015, Brooks earned his black belt from Master Moreira, whose own lineage traces through Grandmaster Francisco Mansor and the Kioto academy, one of Brazil’s most traditional self-defense focused schools. Brooks is IBJJF certified and has a long history of competition, including championship belts from NAGA and numerous tournament medals. Classes here are structured for both adults and children, with kids’ gi classes open to boys and girls ages 6 to 13. Adult classes welcome men and women of all ages and run both gi and no-gi formats, reflecting the academy’s commitment to the breadth of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practice. The weekly schedule offers dedicated sessions for each group: adult no-gi on Monday evenings, kids gi followed by adult gi on Wednesdays and Fridays. Live drilling and sparring are at the heart of the training, emphasizing the practical application of technique. The school is wheelchair accessible and encourages visitors and drop-ins to join regular classes. Located on Alfred Road in Biddeford, the academy is rooted in a tradition that values technical skill, leverage, and self-defense, continuing the legacy of its instructors and the broader Team Moreira lineage.
