SUMMIT FIGHT BJJ | Daytona Beach was founded and is led by Erico Bueno, a black belt whose martial arts journey began in São Paulo, Brazil. Inspired by the early days of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s rise and shaped by formative years with Checkmat and Master Renato Gardenal, Erico continued his training before earning his black belt from the renowned Alliance Team. Over the years, he’s absorbed techniques and philosophy from legends such as Leonardo and Rico Vieira, Murilo Bustamante, Leandro Lo, Victor Shaolin, Michael Langhi, Charles Cobrinha, and Mario Reis. Erico brings this broad lineage and a deep respect for tradition into everything he teaches. Since opening in 2020, Summit has focused on providing a clean, meticulously maintained dojo with an emphasis on safety, comfort, and practical skill. Classes are structured for adults and include gi fundamentals, all-levels sessions, and no-gi grappling, alongside specialty offerings like takedown-focused BJJ. Erico’s approach blends technical rigor with lessons drawn from real-world experience—including his recognition by the Daytona Beach Police Department for distinguished service in combatives and self-defense. Weekly open mats are available for visitors, and the academy welcomes drop-ins looking to train with a diverse group. The facility sits in the heart of Daytona Beach, across from Daytona State College and near major local landmarks. Students benefit from easy parking, climate-controlled training areas, and accessible amenities. For Erico, teaching at Summit isn’t just about passing on technique—it’s about mentoring students through the art’s traditions, drawing from a lifetime of learning and a network of world-class instructors.
