39 N Cluff Ave Suite C, Lodi, CA
Strive Jiu Jitsu Academy in Lodi is led by Professor Imanuel Rocha, a Carlson Gracie black belt who opened the school in the spring of 2016. Rocha began martial arts training as a teenager in Tae Kwon Do before transitioning to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and boxing in 2007. His professional MMA experience and time training with top coaches and fighters at Jackson-Wink MMA helped shape his approach to teaching. After earning his BJJ black belt from Fabio Prado, Rocha established Strive with the goal of fostering martial arts skills, self-defense, and fitness for both children and adults. Classes at Strive cover gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with instruction tailored to various skill levels and age groups. The academy offers women’s self-defense programs led by Coach Meredith, a longtime competitor and champion who joined the team early on and now brings her competition experience to both the women’s and children’s classes. Beyond BJJ, Strive also provides kickboxing, fitness, and private lessons, supporting a diverse range of martial arts interests. Open mat sessions are available for adult students to drill and spar freely, encouraging continual development. Located at 39 North Cluff Avenue, the academy maintains a family-oriented atmosphere while emphasizing disciplined training. Strive’s programming is designed to accommodate newcomers as well as experienced practitioners, with a focus on steady improvement and practical application. The facility is wheelchair accessible, and private coaching options are offered to help students reach their personal goals.
