Stein’s background reflects a blend of classical martial arts and practical adaptations, including influences from Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The academy honors a lineage that emphasizes both physical readiness and personal development, believing martial arts training should build strength of body and mind. Classes at Stonehouse Martial Arts cover a broad age range with programs for kids, teens, and adults, focusing largely on karate in the gi. The curriculum integrates striking techniques with the traditional Song Moo Kwan philosophy, while also offering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu open mats for adult practitioners looking to develop grappling skills. This combination encourages students to explore different facets of martial arts discipline within a single facility. Family Karate classes allow multiple generations to train together, reflecting the school’s inclusive approach to martial arts education. Located in a fully matted 1300-square-foot studio on Woodland Avenue in Duluth, the academy provides a practical training environment with changing rooms and a waiting area for families. The school maintains a student handbook that outlines its history and expectations, underscoring a commitment to structured learning and respect for martial arts heritage. Regular events and tournaments are part of the calendar, supporting students who want to test their skills in competitive settings while continuing their personal growth on the mats.
