Springfield BJJ is known for its detail-oriented instruction, deep competition experience, and a training culture built on discipline and personal growth. The academy is led by Professor Brian Stuebner, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under 13-time world champion Caio Terra. Brian earned his black belt in 2016 and has tested his skills against elite competitors, bringing that sharp technical focus to every class. The coaching staff also includes Professor Taylor Anderson, a black belt and IBJJF Pan Champion, who leads the morning program, as well as Professors Taylor “Fogell” Craig and Tony Fazzino—both black belts who came up under Brian—plus Coach Jason Strother, a brown belt known for his work with kids and youth. Classes at Springfield BJJ are structured to serve a wide range of ages and experience levels. Young children (ages 4–9) start in the Kids BJJ program, where Coach Strother focuses on building confidence, coordination, and foundational skills in a positive environment. The Youth Jiu Jitsu program for ages 10–13 emphasizes core techniques and leadership, while the adult classes (ages 13 and up) are designed to challenge students both physically and mentally, with a clear progression from fundamentals to advanced concepts. Gi training is the core of the curriculum, reflecting the academy’s traditional roots, and students can also take advantage of open mat sessions and private lessons for focused development. Springfield BJJ offers wheelchair-accessible facilities and welcomes drop-in visitors to adult and kids classes as well as open mats. The team invests heavily in both group instruction and individual attention, with programs such as youth strength and conditioning and summer camps rounding out the schedule. The academy serves the greater Springfield area, including Nixa, Ozark, and Republic, and is committed to developing strong individuals on and off the mats.
