Claim this gymSJJA Dulwich Hill is part of the Sydney Jiu Jitsu Academy group founded by Bruno Almeida Alves, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Zé Radiola (ZR Team) and a multiple-time world champion. Bruno brought his experience and competition mindset to Australia in 2011, aiming to share high-level BJJ with a broad community. The Dulwich Hill academy follows the SJJA approach, combining technical Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a focus on building resilience and strength in students of all ages. Training at SJJA Dulwich Hill is structured for steady progression, starting with fundamentals classes for beginners and moving through to advanced sessions for experienced grapplers. The schedule includes gi and no-gi classes throughout the week, as well as judo, women’s classes, and open mat sessions. For those interested in early morning training, there are all-levels and no-gi classes from 6am. A full kids’ program runs for ages 3 through teens, with specific classes for age groups 3–4, 5–7, 8–12, and 13 & up, plus dedicated competition training for young athletes. The academy also offers regular open mat times and competition-focused team training. Women’s classes are held every Sunday morning, and there are multiple time slots each day for both adults and children, making it possible for families to train together or for busy schedules to fit in regular sessions. Instruction is led by experienced coaches, including black belts Go Shibata and Hilton Sousa, under the guidance of the wider SJJA team.
