He founded Gracie Barra Joinville in Brazil and Gracie Barra Mission Viejo in California before bringing his experience to Washington. The academy is known for a strong focus on no-gi jiu-jitsu, with advanced no-gi classes anchoring the adult program. All-levels classes give newer students a way in, while women have their own dedicated sessions each week. Kids’ training is split by age: Sirizinhos for ages 4–7 builds coordination and confidence, and Juniors for ages 8–14 moves into technique and discipline.
