Claim this gymSiri Brazilian BJJ Academy in Kennewick is led by Professor Gustavo Pires, a fourth-degree black belt under Master Carlos Gracie Jr. Professor Gustavo has taught Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over two decades across Brazil, England, and the United States, including time at Roger Gracie Academy in London and Gracie Barra headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. He founded Gracie Barra Joinville in Brazil and Gracie Barra Mission Viejo in California before bringing his experience to Washington. The academy is known for a strong focus on no-gi jiu-jitsu, with advanced no-gi classes anchoring the adult program. All-levels classes give newer students a way in, while women have their own dedicated sessions each week. Kids’ training is split by age: Sirizinhos for ages 4–7 builds coordination and confidence, and Juniors for ages 8–14 moves into technique and discipline. Law enforcement and first responders also train here, reflecting the academy’s emphasis on practical self-defense. Open mat sessions are part of the weekly schedule, giving students time for live rounds and positional sparring outside of regular classes. Drop-ins are welcome, and the location draws students from all over the Tri-Cities area, not just Kennewick. Siri Brazilian BJJ Academy is a place where families, competitors, and everyday grapplers can find serious instruction rooted in decades of experience.
