1608 E Spruce St Ste 400, Portales, NM
Sindalu BJJ Portales offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai programs focused on practical self-defense, personal growth, and physical fitness. The academy encourages students to train at their own pace, whether their goals involve self-protection, competition, or mixed martial arts. Classes are structured to accommodate a range of ages and experience levels, with open mat sessions available for adult practitioners to refine techniques and drill outside of regular classes. The gym operates with a philosophy that emphasizes humility and learning through both success and failure, echoing Helio Gracie’s principle that jiu-jitsu is a tool for protecting those who may lack physical advantages. Sindalu maintains a flexible pricing model aimed at making martial arts accessible to diverse community members, including discounted rates for families, law enforcement, teachers, military personnel, and those facing financial challenges. Located at 1608 E Spruce St Suite 400 in Portales, New Mexico, the academy is connected to the We Defy Foundation, reflecting its commitment to community empowerment through martial arts education. Private lessons are also offered, often shared between two students to reduce costs, supporting personalized instruction alongside group training.
