Head instructor Billy Shannon is a second-degree IBJJF certified black belt with 25 years of wrestling and 15 years of Jiu-Jitsu experience, including multiple IBJJF gold medals and success at major tournaments like the Pans. Co-owner Nick Wallace, also an IBJJF certified black belt, brings 15 years of martial arts experience and a strong coaching background, teaching both adults and children. The academy’s focus is on practical no-gi Jiu-Jitsu, with classes designed for all experience levels. Adult students can expect a mix of technique, positional training, and live rounds, with an emphasis on starting from standing positions—reflecting the instructors’ wrestling backgrounds. Kids and teens have their own dedicated “Open” sessions, giving younger students a chance to develop skills in a structured but energetic setting. Private lessons are available for those looking for focused, one-on-one instruction. Beyond Jiu-Jitsu, Shannon Arts offers MMA striking and sparring classes for adults, adding variety for those interested in cross-training.
