School of Jiu Jitsu - Brazilian Top Team Lake Jackson is led by Professor Fernando Halfeld, a Brazilian black belt who began training at age nine. After building his competitive career in Brazil—earning podium finishes at the World Championship, South American Championship, and Brazilian Nationals—Halfeld moved to Texas in 2015, where he took over a friend’s school and established the Brazilian Top Team legacy in Brazoria County. Under his leadership, the academy has become both a competitive force and a local fixture, focused on using Jiu Jitsu to foster discipline, perseverance, and confidence in students of all backgrounds. The academy’s programs offer structured instruction for adults and children, with a strong emphasis on traditional gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Kids’ classes run in the mornings, giving younger students a chance to develop coordination, self-control, and teamwork before school, while adult classes and open mats are scheduled throughout the week. For those interested in expanding their skills, the school also runs adult Muay Thai classes, reflecting a commitment to striking arts alongside its BJJ curriculum. Professor Halfeld’s influence reaches beyond the mats in Richwood.
