SBG New Braunfels Brazilian Jiu Jitsu School is built on a curriculum-driven approach, with every class fitting into a larger plan focused on real progress both on and off the mats. The academy is a certified Rickson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Global Federation school, and its head coach, Michael Heinz, holds a black belt under John Frankl, founder of SBG Korea. Michael brings over 14 years of experience in jiu jitsu, wrestling, and boxing, and has taught students of all ages around the world. His background as a former professor of rhetoric and education shapes the way classes are structured, emphasizing clear instruction, practical application, and personal growth. The academy offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for adults and kids, with programs designed for specific age groups, including classes for ages 5–7, 7–9, 10–13, and teens. Women’s BJJ classes give women a dedicated space to train, and there is a strong emphasis on helping students of all backgrounds find a place on the mats. Kaylee Heinz, who holds a purple belt under John Frankl and is an active competitor, co-leads the school and brings her own experience as a coach and community-builder. SBG New Braunfels also includes Muay Thai and boxing classes for both adults and kids, giving students a chance to cross-train in striking and develop a broader skill set. Training is available seven days a week, with morning, noon, and evening sessions to fit different schedules. Open mat times allow for extra rounds and live drilling beyond regular classes. Drop-ins are welcome, making it easy for visitors and traveling grapplers to join in. The school is wheelchair accessible and aims to be a place where families, competitors, and hobbyists can all find what they need to grow in martial arts.
