San Diego Combat Academy | East County San Diego Jiu Jitsu - Boxing - Kickboxing is guided by a team of accomplished coaches, including Tiger Smalls, a former featherweight world boxing champion and member of the California Boxing Hall of Fame. Alongside him, Kru Tony Palafox brings expertise in Muay Thai and MMA striking, holding a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the Glover/Baker/Letsos lineage. Together, they lead a program that blends striking arts with grappling, grounded in their own competitive experience. The academy offers a full schedule of classes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, boxing, and kickboxing, designed to accommodate a range of goals from fitness to competition. Training sessions are structured to develop skills progressively, with attention to both gi and no-gi formats in grappling, while striking classes focus on technique and conditioning under professional competitors’ guidance. Youth programs are also part of the curriculum, emphasizing discipline and fundamentals. Located in Spring Valley, the facility is wheelchair accessible and supports strength and conditioning classes to complement martial arts training.
