Ronin Fitness in Eau Claire is led by a team of accomplished coaches with deep roots in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, and the Midwest grappling scene. Head coach Samuel Gaier brings over a decade of coaching experience and an expert-level record of 52-7 in professional grappling and BJJ, along with a strong background in MMA competition. The staff also includes Max Stary, a multiple-time youth MMA champion with international experience, Charlie Leska, known for his podium finishes across Midwest tournaments and evidence-based coaching, and Dom Yates, who has excelled in both BJJ and MMA while inspiring students through his own transformation on and off the mats. Ellen Scott and Addie Gratz-Maag round out the roster, each bringing years of competitive and coaching experience—especially with youth and school-based programs. Training at Ronin Fitness centers on a practical, adaptive style of martial arts. Classes are structured to move students from fundamentals through intermediate and advanced work, with color-coded practice levels guiding progression. The schedule features adult gi jiu-jitsu, wrestling, striking, boxing, MMA, and open mat sessions throughout the week, with early morning and evening options to accommodate different routines. The youth jiu-jitsu program is a major focus, led by coaches with both competitive and educational backgrounds, and is designed to develop skills and confidence in younger athletes.
