ROLLSTAR Jiu Jitsu (HQ) in Hackensack, NJ, is led by Professor Diego Guadalupe, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Professor Adem Redzovic. Born and raised in Union City, Professor Diego brings a background in Kung Fu and kickboxing, but found his true calling in Jiu Jitsu in 2010. Since then, he has trained with instructors across the U.S. and abroad, and is also a certified Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Specialist with NASM. Professor Diego’s dedication to teaching and growing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in northern New Jersey is at the heart of the academy’s mission. Instruction at Rollstar is shaped by a diverse and accomplished coaching staff. Professor Omar Delgado, a first-degree black belt under Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro and active IBJJF and Abu Dhabi Pro competitor, shares his competition knowledge and passion for Jiu Jitsu with students. Coach Fred Rosser, a brown belt with a lifetime in martial arts, leads the fundamentals program with a focus on building technical foundations and personal growth. No-gi instruction is headed by Professor Erick Ramirez, a black belt and experienced competitor, who leads Saturday evening sessions for students interested in expanding their skills beyond the gi. The academy offers structured programs for both kids and adults, including fundamentals, advanced classes, and dedicated no-gi training. Rollstar’s schedule features open mat sessions, and the facility is wheelchair accessible. The team also runs workshops in adult and kids’ self-defense, and supports youth development initiatives like the IronKids Project. Drop-ins are welcome, reflecting the academy’s commitment to sharing Jiu Jitsu with the wider community.
