ROLLSTAR Jiu Jitsu Academy in Windsor Mill, MD is led by Dr. Hernán Guadalupe, a first-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Professor Ataide Rafael. Dr. Hernán’s martial arts journey began at age eight in striking arts and led him to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu after relocating to Maryland in 2009. Since earning his black belt in 2020, he has remained an active competitor and is a multiple-time IBJJF medalist in both gi and no-gi divisions. With a teaching background spanning all age groups, Dr. Hernán brings decades of experience in martial arts instruction and competition to the academy. The instructional team also features Professor Manuel Farfán Arias, a black belt under Professor Gonzalo Otero and a recognized competitor internationally, including top-10 IBJJF rankings and appearances at Abu Dhabi Extreme Championship and Fight to Win. Professor Manuel leads the adult and competition programs, ensuring that students benefit from high-level technical guidance and firsthand competition expertise. Professor Mike Yang and Coach Darnell Davis round out the staff, with Coach Darnell also providing Muay Thai instruction alongside his jiu-jitsu coaching. Rollstar offers programs for both adults and children, including a dedicated kids’ curriculum and the IronKids Project. The Windsor Mill location supports students interested in both self-defense and sport jiu-jitsu, with open mat sessions available for adults and a schedule that welcomes visitors.
