Roll Dogs Jiu Jitsu in Cathedral City is led by Professor Kurt Rojo, a sixth-degree black belt with over 30 years of experience and the highest-ranked black belt in the Coachella Valley. Kurt founded the academy to provide structured martial arts training that builds discipline, focus, and confidence across all ages. Alongside him, Efren Mercado, a California State Jiu Jitsu Champion and black belt, teaches kids and beginner classes, emphasizing strong fundamentals and a patient, supportive approach. The academy offers a range of classes including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for kids in two age groups (5-8 and 9-13), teens, and adults. Training follows a clear progression from fundamentals to more advanced techniques, with all classes conducted in the gi. Beyond BJJ, Roll Dogs integrates Muay Thai, kickboxing, and mixed martial arts into its curriculum, providing students the opportunity to develop striking and MMA skills alongside grappling. Private lessons are also available for personalized instruction.
