Revel Jiu Jitsu Academy in East Brunswick, NJ, is built around a curriculum shaped by more than two decades of high-level experience and a methodical approach to teaching. The academy is led by Jason Scully, a 4th degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and renowned instructor who has competed at the highest levels, including the ADCC Trials, World Championships, and No-Gi Pans. Scully is also recognized for creating The Grapplers Guide, a respected online resource for grapplers worldwide. Alongside him, Kirk Breneman brings his own record of international competition success and leads the Junior Revelers youth program, while Jaime Ruiz directs the kids’ classes and James T. Smith, a veteran Muay Thai coach and former pro fighter, heads the striking program. Classes at Revel are structured with clear progression for both adults and children. Adults can train in both gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with open mats and open training sessions available throughout the week. Kids’ classes are divided into age groups—4 to 7 and 8 to 14—ensuring instruction is tailored to developmental needs. The program emphasizes character development and discipline alongside technical skills, giving young students a strong foundation on and off the mats.
