133 E Concho Ave, San Angelo, TX
Redemption Jiu Jitsu in San Angelo was opened in 2022 by owners Zac Marshall and Patrick Lindsey with head coach Conrad Duran. Marshall is a black belt under Rafael “Formiga” Barbosa, giving the academy a clear lineage connection while its relatively recent founding makes it part of a newer generation of West Texas BJJ schools. The gym is already showing competitive activity beyond its age. Let’s Roll’s current ADCC data links three athletes directly to Redemption, led by Michael Riddell, placing the academy in the Active Competitors tier. That signal matters for a younger school because it shows the program has moved beyond simply establishing a local member base. For grapplers in San Angelo, Redemption is a strong comparison for someone who values a locally owned academy with a documented black-belt lineage and a growing competition presence. Its identity is more specific than “BJJ for everyone”: a newer West Texas room built by local owners and already producing measurable tournament activity.
