Protasio Jiu Jitsu - Navarre Emerald Coast Checkmat is led by Professor Bruno Protasio, a dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt who brings the Checkmat tradition to Navarre, Florida. As part of the international Checkmat team founded by Master Leonardo Vieira, Professor Bruno emphasizes a blend of high-level technical instruction and the core values of respect, discipline, and personal growth. The academy’s approach is shaped by his experience on the mats and his commitment to helping students of all ages build confidence and leadership through consistent training. At Protasio Jiu Jitsu, the class structure covers a wide range of age groups and training goals. Young children can start as early as age three in Pee Wee classes, with both gi and no-gi options available. The academy also runs dedicated programs for kids ages 6–12, including a unique homeschooling gi class to serve local families with flexible schedules.
