Renzo Gracie Academy

Renzo Gracie Academy in Westlake Village is led by fourth-degree black belt Neto Gomes, who brings years of experience both on the mats and as a coach. Alongside Gomes, instructors Bjorn Dahlgren and Ryan Chisholm, also black belts, help carry the Renzo Gracie lineage with hands-on teaching and personal attention. This team offers students more than just a connection to the Renzo name—they provide a solid local foundation for learning and advancing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Training at the academy includes both gi and no-gi classes for adults, with sessions lasting about an hour and a half. Kids have their own programs divided into age groups like Little Samurais and Juniors, with gi classes available as well. The schedule also features MMA training and open mat times, allowing students to explore different aspects of grappling and striking or get extra practice outside of class. Drop-ins are accepted, which makes it accessible for visitors or those wanting to train occasionally. Located in the Conejo Valley area, the school draws students from Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, and Thousand Oaks who want to work under established black belts connected directly to Renzo Gracie’s system. The emphasis is on steady progression through fundamentals and more advanced techniques, supported by a coaching staff with deep ties to the art and the local scene.
