78 W 1st St Suite C, Oswego, NY
Oswego Jiu Jitsu was founded by a group of passionate martial artists determined to bring high-level grappling and striking instruction to the heart of Oswego, NY. What began as a small group of students has grown into a thriving academy with over two hundred members, all united by the shared values of discipline, respect, and hard work. The school’s mission is to help people of all ages build confidence, develop strong character, and pursue personal excellence through martial arts. Training at Oswego Jiu Jitsu covers much more than just Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The weekly schedule includes gi-based fundamentals for beginners, wrestling for takedown skills, and judo classes—offered at no extra cost to members—to round out stand-up technique. For students interested in self-defense and athletic development, the MMA Striking program draws on boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, and karate fundamentals, led by instructor Cody Hogan. The academy also runs a dedicated women’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class led by Kaitlin Gregory, providing a focused space for women to train and learn practical self-defense. Kids’ Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes play a big role at the academy, with instructors using the art to help children build discipline and teamwork while having fun. Oswego Jiu Jitsu welcomes visitors and drop-ins, and offers open mat sessions for anyone looking to get extra rounds or work on specific techniques. The facility is wheelchair accessible, and the coaching team is committed to tailoring instruction to each student’s goals—whether that means preparing for competition or simply getting stronger and more confident on and off the mats.
