Claim this gymOpen Sparring Muay Thai Sydney & BJJ Sydney was built out of a frustration with outdated training systems and a desire to offer modern, world-class martial arts in the heart of Sydney. The founders came from years of experience in both traditional kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, determined to create a space with up-to-date techniques, clean facilities, and a practical approach to fight sports. The gym is laid out over 130 square metres of well-maintained mats and brings together a crew of instructors with diverse backgrounds, including black belts and international competitors. The academy’s programs are structured around Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (both gi and no-gi), Muay Thai kickboxing, wrestling, boxing, and MMA. BJJ classes are led by coaches with deep competition and coaching experience, including a purple belt graded under Levi Jones-Leary, a top-ranked black belt, and one of Australia’s most accomplished female grapplers. Sessions cover fundamentals, advanced techniques, and competition strategies, with dedicated times for open mat and competition team training. Muay Thai and striking classes are run by experienced practitioners, with a focus on technical skill and practical application. Classes run six days a week, with early morning, lunchtime, and evening options to suit a range of schedules. There are also specific sessions for wrestling and no-gi grappling, as well as a kids and teens Muay Thai program. Drop-ins are welcome, and the gym’s central CBD location makes it accessible for anyone working or living in Sydney looking to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, or MMA in a straightforward, contemporary setting.
