One World Jiu Jitsu Academy

One World Jiu Jitsu Academy was established in 2006 by Mike Prudencio in Union City, California. Since its founding, the academy has grown and relocated to Newark, where Mike continues to lead the instruction and daily operations. The school was created with the goal of blending family-oriented values with a serious approach to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, offering a space for both competition-minded students and those simply interested in learning the art. Training at One World covers a full spectrum of BJJ practice, including gi and no-gi classes for adults throughout the day, with morning sessions available in both formats. The academy also runs a Members Marathon Roll, emphasizing live rolling to sharpen technique and conditioning. Children train in all-levels classes that include both gi and no-gi instruction, aiming to build confidence and practical skills from an early age. The instructors at One World bring experience not only in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but also in wrestling, judo, kickboxing, and MMA, supporting a diverse skill set for students. The academy encourages participation in tournaments and runs dedicated competition team practices to prepare athletes for the mat. With a consistent schedule and inclusive age groups, One World maintains a focus on steady progress and real-world application of Jiu-Jitsu.
