Nura Jiu Jitsu Academy

Nura Jiu Jitsu Academy in West Gosford was founded by Peter Jackson, a registered black belt with the International Jiu Jitsu Federation. Peter’s journey began in Western Sydney, training under Professor Stefan Sutton and Professor Marcos Nevel at Gracie Humaita, before earning his black belt from Professor Rodrigo Dos Santos and Professor Sutton in 2024. As a proud Wonnarua man, Peter brings together years of coaching experience and a deep commitment to culture, community and personal growth. The academy’s purpose is to offer a place where the connections and life lessons found in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can help others reach their potential. The academy runs structured Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs for both adults and kids. Adults BJJ classes cover fundamental techniques, skill progression and fitness, with instruction suitable for those new to the art as well as experienced practitioners. Kids’ classes are designed to teach age-appropriate self-defence in a fun, supportive setting, focusing on building confidence, focus and resilience. Family participation is encouraged, and memberships allow for unlimited training each week, making it straightforward for families to train together. Nura Jiu Jitsu Academy operates on Darkinjung country and acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land. The school keeps its approach simple, without join fees or lock-in contracts, and offers family discounts to make training accessible. Classes are held at Unit 6, 5 Daintree Place, West Gosford, and the academy welcomes locals who want to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on the Central Coast.
