NexJen BJJ

NexJen BJJ & Martial Arts opened its doors in Versailles, Kentucky in late 2022 as the town’s first dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy. The school was founded to focus on the martial roots of BJJ, with a structured approach that puts a premium on mastering fundamentals and sound technique. NexJen began as part of the Valhalla Jiu-Jitsu Association and, as of June 2025, is affiliated with Butch Hiles BJJ & MMA under the lineage of Professor Marcello C. Monteiro. Classes at NexJen are built around the idea that a strong foundation prepares students for every stage of their journey. Adult students can expect a mix of gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, including SmartStart BJJ for newcomers, all-ranks classes, and dedicated drilling sessions. There are also open mat times available for extra practice and sparring. The school welcomes drop-ins for most sessions, making it accessible for visitors and traveling students. Younger martial artists have their own programs, with Kids BJJ classes starting at age 4. NexJen also offers kids’ karate, providing a broader base for children interested in martial arts. The facility is wheelchair accessible, and the schedule is designed to support families and individuals who want to train regularly and develop their skills in a focused, traditional setting.
