Lion's Den Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Homer Glen offers a curriculum that balances both gi and no-gi training for adults as well as a structured kids’ program. The schedule includes adult gi classes, beginner and advanced no-gi sessions, and open mat opportunities, alongside dedicated kids’ no-gi and advanced youth classes. Striking instruction is also available for adults, reflecting the academy’s focus on practical self-defense and overall martial arts development. Head instructor Fabian Sandoval earned his black belt in 2020 after more than a decade of training across different BJJ styles and schools. Fabian’s approach reflects his background as a “nomad,” drawing on a variety of techniques and teaching philosophies accumulated since 2008. Instructor Mohmad Abu Raad brings experience from both jiu-jitsu and wrestling, having competed in youth and adult divisions. Together, they teach sport jiu-jitsu and self-defense to a diverse student base, with ages ranging from young children to adults in their sixties. Located inside Fitness Premier, Lion’s Den offers amenities such as showers, locker rooms, a sauna, and 24/7 access to a full fitness center. The academy welcomes students from Homer Glen and surrounding southwest suburbs, maintaining an open-door policy for drop-ins. The teaching philosophy centers on building confidence, discipline, and practical skills—on and off the mats—for students of all backgrounds.
