Lincoln Jiu Jitsu Academy was founded in 2022 in Lincoln, California, by Chuy and Ashley Moreno. Chuy Moreno, a second-degree black belt under Osvaldo “Queixinho” Moizinho and Manny Moreno, brings over 15 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai instruction. His brother Manny Moreno, a second-degree black belt awarded by Samir Chantre and Queixinho, joined as co-head instructor in 2024. Together, the Moreno brothers lead the academy with a focus on building stronger individuals through teamwork and consistent training. The gym became an affiliate of Aspire to Inspire Jiu Jitsu in 2023 and expanded its mat space the same year to accommodate growing interest. Classes at Lincoln Jiu Jitsu Academy cover traditional gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, no-gi training, wrestling specifically tailored for grappling, and Muay Thai striking. The academy offers instruction for adults and youth, including dedicated kids’ classes that emphasize both technique and character development. Women’s Jiu Jitsu and self-defense classes are also part of the schedule. Open mat sessions are available for all adults to drop in and train beyond regular classes. Private lessons in both Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai are offered to help with technique refinement and competition preparation. The academy’s facility is wheelchair accessible and aims to provide a clean and comfortable environment for all students. Training runs six days a week, Monday through Saturday, with options for beginners to start at any time and experienced practitioners welcome to drop in. The Morenos emphasize steady skill progression and creating a space where students can develop confidence on and off the mats.
