Kraken Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is led by Coach Fred Klingelberger, a brown belt under Professor Marcio Santos and a long-time student within the Carlos Machado Jiu Jitsu Association. Fred’s background as a seasoned martial artist and former law enforcement officer informs his approach to teaching, which emphasizes grit, discipline, and personal growth alongside technical skill. Founded in Forney, Texas, Kraken BJJ has recently relocated its classes to Snap Fitness in Kaufman while preparing a new permanent facility nearby. Training at Kraken BJJ covers both traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques and modern methods, with programs designed for all ages and experience levels. The academy offers adult and kids classes in both gi and no-gi formats, as well as open mat sessions and private lessons. This structure allows students to build a solid foundation through fundamentals before advancing to more complex aspects of the art, all under the guidance of instructors who prioritize mindset and accountability.
