1502c Deer Park Ave, North Babylon, NY
Jiu Jitsu Modern in North Babylon is led by Professor Carlos Rosado, a local instructor who began training at 17 and earned his black belt under Professor Joe Scarola in 2014. Rosado has remained an active competitor while building his own academy, giving the school a founder-led identity rooted in both teaching and continued testing on the competition scene. The current program includes gi and no-gi jiu jitsu, fundamentals, kids training, wrestling and open mat. Coach Tara, who began training under Rosado shortly after he opened his first school, also helps run the academy and competition preparation. For grapplers around North Babylon, West Islip and Lindenhurst, Jiu Jitsu Modern stands out most for continuity. Rosado is not just the name on the academy; he built the school locally, continues to compete and has developed staff from within his own student base.
