Claim this gymJean Jacques Machado BJJ Perth in Greenwood stands as the only academy in Western Australia officially affiliated with Master Jean Jacques Machado. The school is led by head instructor Paolo Gizzarelli, a 3rd degree black belt under Jean Jacques Machado, who brings decades of international experience to the mats. Paolo and his family have built a family-run academy that has delivered high-quality Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, judo, self-defence, and personal training for over 25 years, drawing on training with both the Machado and Gracie families. Their approach is grounded in practical skill development, individualised attention, and a belief that lasting results require more than just physical intensity. The academy’s programs go beyond Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, offering structured classes in judo with Sensei Tommy and Sensei Dean, who have international competition backgrounds. Members can also access strength and conditioning, corporate security training, and personalised self-defence programs. Jean Jacques Machado BJJ Perth welcomes people of all ages and fitness levels, from everyday individuals to police, special forces, security professionals, and corporate clients. Full membership includes access to the in-house Exclusive Training Studio, a fully equipped gym where qualified trainers are always available for guidance and support. Personal training is a core part of the academy’s offering, with both Paolo and Lora Gizzarelli designing tailored programs for health, rehabilitation, and elite performance. The school’s philosophy is centred on helping each member set and pursue their own goals, whether that’s learning practical self-defence, achieving rehabilitation milestones, or building high-level athletic performance. The focus is always on the journey of improvement, not just the end result.
